Excerpts from Puertecitos Happenings.....

The St. Patrick's Day corned beef dinner had a great turn-out.  Raffle tickets are being sold for the Mother's Day Brunch.  Ongoing activities every year include quilting, painting lessons, bible study and cards.

Bill Hester and Howdy built a broom closet for the Community Hall.  Local handymen did some roof repair and got the water tank moved on to a stand.  Two new barbeques are in the works for the clubhouse.  Esther and Rose cleaned up the Post office and library.

The Clinic is up and running again.  The Flying for Jesus group visted in March, many patients were seen.    The Flying Samaritans have also come in with doctors, nurses and dentists for clinic.

Rose held her 15th Annual "Almost Spring" luncheon on the 19th of March.  Rose had a knee injury and wasn't able to hold it in her home.  Friends helped put it together at the Community Center.

You can get gas if Clara is in town.  There is a person at the gate.    It's two dollars a car and one dollar for each person now.  If you haven't been in for a while you may have to convince him that you are a home owner.  Ahh, the trials of living in a gated community.

NEWS FROM SARA...
Sara Soto sent a letter thanking everyone for all their caring thoughts during her illness.  She is back to school and teaches English in the afternoons.  You can write to her at:
Sara Leon Soto, Buzon #10, Ejido Matomi, C.P. 21850, San Felipe, B.C., Mexico.

The Delegation for Ejido Matomi has moved it's headquarters next to the new fire station at El Vergel.  You can contact him on marine radio channel 09 or 04 on a two meter radio.  We are sorry to report that Miguel and Julio Cesar and Maritza are no longer working with the delegation.

Julio Cesar and Maritza have opened the "Mercado Melissa" at the site formerly known as "Alpha Beta".

The government has provided materials for each lot  holder in the poblado with material to build a 12'x12' room, a solar panel, battery and converter to provide power.  The government generator runs most nights so there are street lights on!
